Inauguration of NIQR Student Chapter in Vishwakarma University, Pune

National Institution for Quality and Reliability inaugurated its first student chapter in Western India in Vishwakarma University, Pune on 15th February 2020. The objective of starting a student chapter is to bridge the gap between Industrial applications and academic knowledge and to introduce the students to the industrial demands and requirements.

Mr. S. Rajasekaran, National President, NIQR, was the Chief Guest for the inaugural function organised by the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science and Technology, VU.

The student chapter, 22nd of NIQR, was inaugurated with invocation and lighting of Kuthuvilakku.

Dr. Nazia Wahid, Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering which included many dignitaries from NIQR, 45 students and 10 staff members.

Prof.(Dr.) Milind Kulkarni (Dean, S&T) addressed the students and commended NIQR for the services it was offering through Student Chapters. He asked the students to keenly observe the speeches and lecture from NIQR officials as they will be very useful for their career building.

Mr. C. V. Gowri Sankar, National Secretary, NIQR explained about NIQR through a video and benefits of student chapters and introduced the mentor of the chapter Mr. Yuvaraj, Secretary, NIQR – Pune Branch.

Mr. Dattatraya Navalgundkar, Executive Council Member, NIQR spoke about Industry-Institution Connect and gave a few tips about getting organised during studies itself to meet the requirements of Industry.

Mr. P K Aggarwal, Past National President, NIQR on spoke on Quality-the Driver in all walks of life after college.

Mr. S. Rajasekaran, National President, NIQR gave a lecture on Industry 4.0 highlighting the use of technologies like AI, Machine Learning and Data analytics for the future.

The dignitaries presented the NIQR Student Member Certificates to the students.

Prof. (Dr.)Milind Kulkarni, Dean, Science and Technology, felicitated the dignitaries of NIQR.

Dr. Nazia Wahid, Assistant Professor proposed the vote of thanks and the event was concluded with the National Anthem of India.
