Quality Summit cum Kaizen Competition at FIA Hall, Faridabad

NIQR Delhi NCR Branch & FIA (Faridabad Industrial Association) organized a Quality Summit & Kaizen competition on 3rd December 2016 at FIA Hall, Faridabad.  The summit was a grand success with over 90 Quality Professionals from 50 Tier 1 Suppliers participating in it.

Quality Summit had two panel discussions where Eminent Quality Professionals shared their views on Quality.

Panel 1: The Sustainable Quality

In the first panel discussion, Mr. N.P. Chandok (AVP Hero Motocorp & EC Member NIQR), Mr. R. B. Madhekar (CEO, RBMSS & EC Member NIQR) and Mr. Sandeep Handa acted as panellists & Mr. S. K. Taneja (Former Director Escorts India Ltd.) moderated the discussions.

The eminent panellists concurred that Sustainable Quality is the mantra of “Consistency in Quality Requirements & the Ability to meet Future Developments”.  They explained how the sustainable processes, sustainable products and sustainable system lead to Sustainable Quality.

Panellists also focussed on continual improvement through Kaizen, Poka Yoke and Quality circle to attain sustainable results.  In conclusion, one can measure Sustainable Quality by measuring & controlling Cost of Quality and it can be achieved through consistency in products, processes and systems & every individual is responsible to accelerate the Quality revolution.

Panel 2: The Global Expectation: The secret of competitiveness

Mr. K. C. Hallone (Director Srini Sons & EC member NIQR), Mr. Vipin Garg (VP Quality MSIL & Vice Chairman NIQR),  Mr. R. K. Jain  AVP Quality MSIL) & Mr. Ranjan Vashistha  (CEO Quantum Jump Consulting & EC Member NIQR) were the panellists and Dr. S. K. Goel (ED Star Wire India) moderated the discussions.

The discussions centred on Global Competitiveness, its importance & pillars to achieve Global Expectation. Global Competitiveness is the ability of a country to provide quality products and services at competitive prices and providing adequate returns.

Importance of Competitiveness

•To increase the living standards

•To increase FDIs

•To increase productivity

•To gain macro-economic stability

•For the economic development of the country

•To maintain balance of trade between import and export of a country

To fulfil Global Expectations, Industry must understand the global agenda like Pollution, Safety, Recalls and Reliability.  Panellists shared their views on Recalls & pollution norms amongst the industry professionals.

Kaizen Competition

The Kaizen Competition attracted 105 entries of which 18 Kaizens were shortlisted for the final competition through presentation. The following Quality Professionals formed the Jury:

  • Ms. Saloni Kaul, India Talent Services.
  • Mr. Sameer Kumar, JCB India Ltd.
  • Mr. Amit Kumar Vishnoi, Ashok Leyland Limited.
  • Mr. Sumit Shandilya, SQE, HERO MotoCorp Limited.

Team from Victora Auto Pvt. Ltd. was the winner of the competition; there was a tie for the next best presentations.

1st Runner Up – Tie between JCB India Ltd. and Bony Polymers (P) Ltd.

2nd Runner Up – Tie between Admach Auto India Ltd. and GKN Driveline (India) Ltd.
